Welcome to Mitchelton Special School!  We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every student can reach their potential and every staff member can flourish. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to support our students and we believe that strong partnerships with families and the wider community are key to this success.

Mitchelton Special School is a small school with just over 80 students.  We provide educational programs for students from Prep to year 12, with an Intellectual Disability.  Some of our students also have additional disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Physical Impairment, Vision Impairment, and/or Hearing Impairment.
Mitchelton Special School also has an Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) which is co-located on the Junior campus of the school.  This program caters for children from birth until school age.
We use the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework, with our school expectations being:

SAFE
RESPECTFUL
LEARNER

Please don’t hesitate to make contact with us, if you would like to know more about the school.

Kind regards
Kristy Elford
Principal
