The Student Resource Scheme (SRS) is an optional service provided by the school to offer a cost-effective alternative to purchasing textbooks, resources, consumables and/or materials individually. It ensures that all participating students have access to the same standard of resources, enhancing their engagement with the curriculum. If parents/carers choose not to participate in the SRS, they will need to provide these resources themselves.
Upon enrolment a Participation Agreement Form (PAF) will be sent home outlining the terms and conditions of SRS participation. This PAF covers the student’s participation for the entire time at school.
At Mitchelton Special School the SRS fees contribute towards the following resources:
• Stationary, exercise books, student diary
• Sensory consumables such as playdough, paints etc
• Cooking supplies, miscellaneous resources for creative arts
• Communication system tools in classrooms including iPad communication Apps, Symbols, laminating, Velcro and folders
• iPad Apps (Minecraft Education, Teach Your Monster to Read, Sora, Twinkl)
• Textbooks, musical instruments,
Parents experiencing financial hardship who are currently participating or wish to participate in SRS should contact the school to discuss available options in confidence.
